Any One Piece fans? :-* Gotta admit I do like it tho it took a LONG TIME for me to really get into it. I'm talking hundreds of episodes.
It is really unique as far as most shonen go. Usual formula is Bad Guy Group 1 shows up, good guys kick their ass, random eps, BGG2 shows up, good guys kick ass etc.
One piece has many groups of bad guys that show up in and out through the series, never really being defeated. The world government and shichibukai mainly. Then there are countless pirate crews. Also much less ass pulls. N this anime has probably had me in suspense more than any other. Like usually no matter how bad things get, you know in the back of your mind that the good guys will survive and win the fight.. Well there have been quite a few times where I really thought main characters would die.. at the end of the Thriller Bark arc they had me believing the whole Strawhat crew was going to die, even tho I knew there was 200+ more episodes left.
It's a great anime once you really get into it. My only complaint is how long some of the arcs can get. I mean you can fit an entire two to three 26 ep animes into ONE ARC of one piece that might not even be good. So you end up spending alot of time watching a 50 episode lame arc like the Skypeia one, banging your head on the desk until it's finally over when you could have watched all of FMA brotherhood in the same time..
Anywhoo, other One Piece fans?

Let me tell you it is an odyssey.. and I've been thru naruto, bleach, fairy tail and a few other long ones. I started OP over 6 months ago and am still only about half way thru.
A plus tho, OP has alot less filler than the other big 2. N is easily avoided.

I tried watching a few episodes a while ago but gave up. The last episode I remember is something about a pirate ship and that guy with the nigger hair running up a steep dirt path and he like climbed a tree to talk to some chick or something. And that Monkey Lupin guy's voice was really irritating I remember. It sounded like Beavis.

I've made to the end of the Water 7 arc. I'll agree with you, I was very skeptic at first.. it took me about 75-100 episodes before I actually became a fan. Was glad to see the quality of animation improve as the series goes on.. I didnt mind the Skypiea arc, now the Alabasta Arc... sooo long and boring.. I dont even think I seen the showdown the Crocodile.. My fince watched it without me and I was like "thats fine, lets move on.."..

It's good, I got slightly past the time skip before I got caught up in other things.
Impel Down Arc was fucking EPIC. So was the first face off against Arlong.
