I dont know, its a bit of a conundrum really. Had I been in that situation, I'm not quite sure what I would have done. On one hand, Wow! What a hell of a majestic creature there.. on the other hand, what a hell of a trophy that would have been.
I think at the end of the day though, I probably would have presented the same bias a lot of other people are spewing around. I'm not going to bash the kid, good for him. He's always going to have that story (and supposedly, a life size mount) to brag about. I probably wouldn't have shot it.. maybe tried to get some nice pics, but given the rarity and the possibility of breeding those genes to future fawns.. let it continue its life in the wild. If I do hunt, its more for the meat than any real sport. I respect animal life like that of any other other creature/human.. but mans gotta eat as well. It's the people that hunt purely for sport that I cant agree with.

I can't fault the child, he's clearly been raised by a 'muh freedoms' shitbird and is surrounded by 'muh freedoms' shitbirds. Unfortunately this will likely mean that in time he too will become a 'muh freedoms' shitbird. I can only hope he breaks this cycle and as an adult is embarrassed by his actions. The destruction of something rare and beautiful purely for the sake of vanity is an act of sheer niggerdom; the action of an unevolved mind.

I read a story a few months ago about endangered albino tigers in captivity and it was actually pretty fucked up.
As the Albino is a recessive trait, alot of Albino animals will also receive other recessive mutations such as downs syndrome n shit..
We want to keep them around because they're cool to look at, so we interbreed them n make veritable "pretty" frankensteins.. I say leave it to nature. If we have fucked up certain species natural habitats enough that they can no longer remain viable in the wild, then just let em die out. Retroactively protecting species just because we like to look at them strikes me as yet another egotistical derangement of humanity.

This is why jesus, aliens, and other things don't visit this planet. Rednecks are fucking retarded.

god made the deer an albino so it would be easier to shoot

Rednecks and ISIS are only different in skin colour

It's just a normal deer with a defective gene it's not a rare species or anything. Albino animals get cancer and die pretty quick anyway and other animals of the same species pick on them for being different.

You're half right. Albino deer don't last very long in the wild because they are unable to hide from predators. Life expectancy of an albino deer is maybe 1-1.5 years at best.

Bahaha.. I want to disagree with this, but.. it's true. Maybe not all rednecks, but enough to categorize the majority. Suppose it depends on personal definition.

Brilliant deduction einstein. The only flaw is...your entire post
An albino is a defect. Somewhere, somehow, in an infinite variety of genetic possibilities one of them turned out to be a fuckup...and this one was it. Deer are designed to be a camouflaged color to blend in with their environment. This one wasnt.
Theres nothing rare or beautiful about a defective organism. This aberration is no different than one with six legs or terminal cancer. The kid did the deer gene pool a favor and hopefully wiped out that genetic line before it bred and passed on its defect to its offspring
Stop being a feel-good emotional slug and see reality for what it is...and thank the kid for doing a good deed
