Title: Notify or Un-Notify That Is The Question
Post by: Suicidal Fish on October 20, 2014, 11:49:44 pm
I am trying to un-notify some threads so I don't get reminders.

But some I was able to do and some not.

Are there any rules in regards this?

I thought I could not un-notify Threads I started but I have other threads too.

Wait, are you saying that when you hit the un-notify button, you're still getting notifications from those threads or it's just plain not letting you click it?

Yep

So threads I posted in but did un-notify I still get in my 'Show new replies to your posts.' section

And it can be annoying as I have posted in threads like 'What are you listening too?' etc and these get posted in quite regular

Oh I see. Yeah, keep in mind, this forum can be very annoyingly slow when it comes to configuration changes so it may take a while to have the forum un-notify those topics.

There are TWO types of notifications. One notification is sent through the Updated Topics. You CANNOT unsubscribe to those once you've posted in those threads the thread update notifications are linked to. The other notifications are e-mail notifications of updated threads you've posted in. Those CAN be turned off in the UN-notification areas of the user account notification settings. The thread you are referring to is linked to Updated Topics, not e-mail notifications, and you can't remove that notification from Updated Topics.

Thanks for explaining it but it seems over complicated and I guess I am stuck with them.

It's pretty retarded to not be able to unsubscribe from threads in-board, but that's the way Simple Machines is.
