Title: delete the RFA subforum
Post by: splooge gook on October 15, 2014, 10:16:06 am
7 posts in 3 threads, now 8 posts in 4 threads, if you post in this thread

postion = p(1,2.3,4,5...)
current post : current thread (estimate, may be subject to curvature according to the fourth dimension of time when the activity on this website greatly rises)
curve = c

p2 5 : 9c
p3 6 : 10c

pn(1,2,3,4,5,6...) + [(1:1c x pn) + (nx:ny)] = pn cp:ct

Maybe. If we're going to delete this sub-forum, we might as well delete a whole slew of other inactive ones though.

Actually a good point. Forgot to do that.

I don't think we should delete it,   that's like deleting BLTC because you don't like drugs.

They're saying we should delete it because of massive inactivity. It wasn't very active at all either on totse2.

Actually they're saying we should merge it into another sub-forum.

I think there should maybe be less boards

fewer boards covering larger ranges of topics would make the forum index less bloated not necessarily deleting them but merging multiple topics

There's ~12 subforums that should be merged or made into child forums, and a bunch of forum descriptions that should be greatly reduced or eliminated.

I mean... here's a successful site with a bloated layout (http://www.backyardchickens.com/f/) with a membership that easily dwarfs this place; one less subforum. It takes 2.5 seconds to scroll the entire forum vs 4 for &S. It's dedicated to chickens. Fucking.   Chickens.

My favorite thread at that place:

http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/931498/land-lords-dog-killed-9-of-my-flock

Its also a nice touch how these chicken faggots love their chickens so much that when a dog kills the chickens half the posts encourage the chicken owner to kill the dog.

I would argue against deleting subforums on a lack of activity. I like our layout because it has something to offer anyone who comes here. We may not have a bunch of radio heads right now but if some were to pass by the site because there was no place to talk about there interests it would be a shame.

If we are to say we should only keep subforums that were popular we would end up with probably only 4 or 5 that we have consistent daily information exchange in. The purpose of having so many subforums is so that they are there when needed. We may not need them now but you never know when someone will put something very useful there and spark an interest.
