I've had braces for the last 2 years, and today I scheduled the appointment to get them taken off.
the dentist pulled 7 teeth in one day (I was put out for that) and pulled all the teeth closer together to reduce my bite, and closed all the gaps from where the teeth were.
I was going to get them removed before I moved to PA, but my ortho told me to just find a new ortho here and continue treatment. I found an ortho here, he told me I'm done.
in 2 weeks, I'm getting the permanent wire retainer, and getting them taken off.
I can't wait to eat without worrying about getting shit stuck in them, to be able to actually brush my teeth again.
and this time around, I won't have hick teeth.
has anyone else had braces? how fucking great was it to get them taken off?

I had braces in high school, but it was so long ago I can hardly even remember it. I've still got a little piece of metal behind my two front teeth, which will remain there forever to ensure they don't resume their old positions. It's sorta weird but I never really notice it.
But yeah, having good teeth is the shit.

yeah, it was definitely something I wanted...when I was a kid, my parents wouldn't pay for it so I got them when I was older.

Class II or III occlusion?

Back in the day I was going to have a few teeth pulled too, but I saw that needle coming, freaked out an may have punched my dentist. He may also have stabbed himself with the needle in the chaos. But hey, he went and leaned a new technique for shaving down the edges of teeth to make everything fit, just for me.
Getting my braces off was one of the best things that ever happened to me. No lie, I celebrated by eating pussy for the first time.

I had a permanent retainer from elementary school up into middle school. It wasn't that bad, just a wire that ran along the back of my bottom teeth. I had a slight over or under bite, cant remember which one it was now.. It wasn't too uncomfortable or anything.. hardly noticed it was there after a while.
Congrats on soon getting your braces off. I'm sure it'll make a huge impact on your confidence and overall comfortability... Heh, you'll probably feel weird immediately after getting them off, just where it'll have been so long. Hope your smile turns out great, coming from the south.. no that my teeth are bad in anyway, I know how self conscious one can be with their smile.. Hints why I don't smile with teeth... like ever.
