Keep taking all those drugs and its going to melt your brains. The article doesnt get into other cognitive degeneration caused by taking them but since memory isnt too dissimilar of a brain function its not long before someone comes up with a research study showing taking drugs makes you into a fucking zombie

OP couldn't score weed in high school cause he wasn't cool enough and the scars didn't heal.
-
Is OP anti drug? HAHAH LAME!! No wonder he's always so angry...
-
Good thing you can take drugs to improve your memory and offset any damage done by drugs. See: piracetam, ergoloid, etc....

Neurodegenerative diseases and damage done by dopaminergic drugs are generally pretty similar
-
Who would of thought that certain drugs could compromise brain function ?

I'd like to happily link you all to this thread for further information.

AARP? Really? Some drugs can fuck your brain up but otherwise the brain is quite resilient and simply up/downregulates certain receptors/genes to compensate for the new drug stimuli. These changes will mostly reverse themselves over time if the user isn't a serious druggie/binge drinker for years. Meth most certainly is harmful though, maybe an order of magnitude or two worse than regular amphetamine. Actually, all those methylated amphetamine RCs are mostly guaranteed to be quite neurotoxic.

abusing dextroamphetamine and temazepam/xanax is worth it at the end of the day.

Who gives a shit? We were'nt all meant to be high flying jet-setting executives. If I want to slowly destroy my brain with opiates, as long as I still hold down a job to pay for my lifestyle, who's fucking business is it but mine? We're all going to die anyway, mind your own and I'll mind mine.
Oh, wait, because drugs are illegal and opiate replacement therapy is hard to come by, it becomes society as a whole's problem. You've got junkies scheming for money, unable to hold down jobs, and just generally being pieces of shit. But all this can be alleviated if this whole 'prohibition' and 'abstinence' trash was replaced with something more modern and progressive. Prohibition failed a very very long time ago. Rather it's alcohol or opiates, it really doesn't make much of a difference. As an interesting side note, alcohol prohibition was modeled very similar to opiate prohibition is now, what with doctors being able to prescribe alcohol and such.

Interesting read about low dose Meth actually being neuroprotective.
