I got a thin black duffel bag an loaded it up with gear for when SHTF. It's in an easy access spot, and ready at a moments notice. What do all of you have for panic bags/bug out bags? What kinds of cool things do you have inside? ???

I have a vintage korean war US surplus Musette bag thats a hunting pack most of the time but other times its a 3-day emergency pack.
it has 5 cups of white rice in a freezer bag.
a small flask of rum.
1 quart canteen of water with purifcation tablets.
cook set made up of fry-pan, pot, plate and bowl.....Surplus army.
2 boxes of matches and a few candles.
flashlight and knife.
For real SHTF one of my .32 revolvers with 2 cylinders worth of ammo.
20 feet of twine wrapped around a ballpoint pen.
I can also strap a 6 by 10 dark green tarp folded tightly together to the outside of the bag if i needed.

why? granted, any gun is better than no gun but a .32 and a .25 are pretty much neck-in-neck in the competition for worst caliber. ever.

Dude, I highly recommend getting your bag in at least a 3 day survival condition asap. I would say after the use of a bug out or panic bag the longest you should take to restock is 3 months and even that is a ridiculous amount of time to go. Best way to go about it is to restock immediately.
Ill post my gear list later.

I don't have one but I'm looking to get one together. Can anyone post recommendation of gear? IS seemed to have a good one from what I remember.

"Disassembled" meaning disassembled by the tornadoes or just moved stuff? Cz if tornadoes did it I feel like disassembled is a rather gentle word to use.
Anyway, I used to have one with multitool, some rope, duct tape, emergency blanket and a powerbar, maybe some matches. Not exactly 3-day sort of condition, something to work on >.>

Mine is actually a duffel bag with clothes and 2 fixed blade knives. The other bag which is my actual BOB consists of canned meats, mess tin, flares, water filter, canteen, tent, and a Strike Force striker.

'panic bag'...what a horrible term. if anything the term should be changed so that the subconscious doesnt associate needing/using the items in the bag for a panic situation. that being said...the normal human condition is panic.
my first 'survivalist' situation was in elementary school when i first moved to florida and a tornado was sighted. i was from NYC and had no idea what a tornado was, other than through wizard of oz. thinking the world was going to end i gradually collected a bunch of stuffs and buried it all in a black trash bag in my back yard. my first 'survival' bag. most of the contents were collected with the information from a hardy boys camping book i found in the local library
this is what i call my 'long term carry pack'...not a 'bug out bag' or any of the other idiotic trendy cool-sounding names.

it is used for any situation that i might need to exist for any reason somewhere other than my home-base. for example...to drive 15 hours to some foreign state to rescue a friend from an abusive bf. it'll last me a week in the manner to which ive become accustomed to living, such as hygiene and caloric consumption. i could make the food last triple that period of time and the hygiene products two months if i rationed.

Label the items pls.

riiiight. not. my inventory list for that pack is two pages long at an 8 font.
its high-res enough that everything is fairly visible and easy to make out
if anyone has any questions or clarifications...ask. simple as that

I made a thread in this subforum called Notes from: FM21-76 (http://www.intosanctuary.com/index.php?topic=139.0). Here is an excerpt:
Army aircraft are equipped with a kit containing the following equipment. This list can be used to construct your own survival kit:
- Water or a means to obtain water
- Food or a means to obtain food
- Trioxane fuel
- Wooden and waterproof matches
- Frying pan
- Pocketknife
- Plastic spoon
- Compass
- Signal mirror
- Mark 113 MOD O (whatever that is)
- First aid kit
- Items to protect oneself against environmental elements
I would say its more important to make sure your bag can serve the following functions:
- First aid
- Signaling
- Water/ means to obtain
- Food/ means to obtain
- Fire starting
- Shelter
It doesn't so much matter what you carry as long as you have these bases covered your chances of survival skyrocket.

Disassembled as in I had to use some of the stuff. When the 2nd one hit we were without power for 4-5 days and phone for about a week and a half. Haven't really assembled them because been broke as fuck, and need a new bag but the broke as fuck plays a part in that.

thats the best way to figure out what you need and how things work in your bag...by using them

I have a bag like this one, (http://"http://www.ebags.com/product/maxpedition/monsoon-gearslinger/103279?productid=1272977&sourceid=ADWPRODUCT&couponid=94790994&gclid=CNi_1vnT_r8CFZJr7AodOQ0A4Q&kwid=productads-plaid^91082699418-sku^1272977-adType^PLA-device^c-adid^50251294338") combined with this one (http://"http://www.ebags.com/product/maxpedition/janus-extension-pocket/137211?productid=1356168&sourceid=ADWPRODUCT&couponid=94790994&gclid=CLrsqaXU_r8CFcZQ7Aod-kYA4w&kwid=productads-plaid^91394466258-sku^1356168-adType^PLA-device^c-adid^50528064618") and lastly combined with this one. (http://"http://www.ebags.com/product/maxpedition/cocoon-pouch/137180?productid=1356090&sourceid=ADWPRODUCT&couponid=94790994&gclid=CLbEqcTU_r8CFc1i7AodWxEAHg&kwid=productads-plaid^91394466258-sku^1356090-adType^PLA-device^c-adid^50528064618")
I use all of those to pack in a bunch of things like:
- In the Cocoon Pouch I have my toiletries kit.
- In the Janus Extender I have a pocket fishing kit, (http://"https://www.etsy.com/listing/155537120/fishing-kit-50-piecespocket-size?ref=related-0") "nice" lockpick set (http://"http://www.lockpickshop.com/MPXS-32.html") with a silcocks key (http://"http://www.amazon.com/Cobra-PST154-4-Way-Silcock-Key/dp/B0002YVMEM") and a gascap key. (http://"http://www.lockpickshop.com/CC77.html")
- In the Monsoon Gearslinger I have a foam sleeping pad strapped to the bottom, (http://"http://www.amazon.com/Foam-Sleeping-Pad-W-ties/dp/B004IM4Z66") along with a sleeping bag also strapped, (http://"http://www.amazon.com/Browning-Camping-4801221-Alpine-Sleeping/dp/B00495D6BW/ref=sr_1_34?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1407329880&sr=1-34&keywords=fleece+sleeping+bag")two life straws, (http://"http://www.amazon.com/LifeStraw-LSPHF017-Personal-Water-Filter/dp/B006QF3TW4/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1407329383&sr=1-1&keywords=life+straw+water+filter") 6 Clif bars, two emergency blankets, (http://"http://www.amazon.com/ER-Emergency-Ready-Thermal-Blankets/dp/B008DEYGJQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1407329503&sr=1-2&keywords=emergency+blanket") my fire kit (Vaseline dipped cotton balls in a washed out aspirin bottles, flint and steel, 2 crappy bic lighters and a bag of dryer lint stuffed into a toilet paper roll,) one of these strapped to the outside of the bag, (http://"http://www.amazon.com/Morakniv-Bushcraft-Carbon-Survival-Starter/dp/B00BFI8TOA/ref=sr_1_5?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1407329612&sr=1-5&keywords=morakniv") a Nagelene bottle, (http://"http://www.amazon.com/Nalgene-Tritan-Mouth-Water-Bottle/dp/B002PLU912/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1407329665&sr=1-1&keywords=nagelene+water+bottle") a map of my area, compass, entrenching tool, 3 rolls of compressed toilet paper, a cheap machete and change of clothes with multiple pairs of socks.
This is my car kit I've settled on considering I work in a place that doesn't like guns on the property.
-
I have a camel pack with all that strapping shit on the outside and enough spare room on the inside for a cooking kit stuffed with food, small fishing kit, other odds and ends, outside has a lot of shit strapped to it as well.
Basically cut my kit down to its minimal with what I'm comfortable with for about a weeks worth of provisions and possible hard sleeping depending on my location. I do have a pick kit in there as well so out buildings and the occasional factory or under ledge would get taken advantage of.
Basically all I'd be doing is making my way home.

200 rounds of .22 LR
One full round of antibiotics
One full round of prescription painkillers
One bottle of NSAIDs
One pint of vodka
One tiny container stuffed to the brim with cotton balls doused with petroleum jelly
Flint and steel
Box of strike anywhere matches triple bagged, bag also contains a half dozen cheap lighters
A handful of MREs and about three days worth of canned goods
A tiny container of bleach (just a drop or two can disinfect [generally speaking, after filtered and boiled...] gallons of water)
A fixed blade knife and a folding knife
Multitool
Three thermal blankets
One change of clothes with one extra pair of underwear and a hooded sweatshirt
2 compact LED flashlights (rated at 20 hours of light per battery set)
Replacement batteries (x2) and portable micro USB phone battery pack (4 charges on one battery pack)
Compass
One tiny ass pot, one tiny ass pan, two sets of silverware, one small metal bowl, one tiny ass roll of TP, a travel size toothbrush, and a bar of soap.
My favorite book and an old 8GB mp3 player with a pair of shit headphones (because morale matters more than you think...)
Collapsible fishing pole with two lures and a few different types of bait.

Overall, it fits on my back, and I can just about assure temporary survival in relative comfort.
