Maybe it's not an addiction but more... religious fanatism.
I love Japanese Candy Videos. Here is an example.
I have no desire tasting it because I'm sure it's repulsive. I have also no motivation to try the kits myself like a fagget. I just want to see tiny Japanese hands mix different powders together and stir with a little water in the specially designated container and enjoy the clicking and clacking sounds of the plastic.
